Send in the clouds…

It’s been an amazing day for clouds, here in North Devon, so much so that I had to stop off on the way to and from work and capture the beginning and end of one of the sky’s best days (photography-wise) of the year so far.

I’m always being told I’m not supposed to shoot straight into the sun, but I don’t hold with any of that…

Arboretum of the imagination: Meetings with impossible trees…

Meetings with Remarkable Trees, by Thomas Pakenham, is a fabulous book and it’s where I stole the idea for the name of this post.

Other than that, there’s no connection, except for the trees, obviously…

K’lee and Dale’s Cosmic Photo Challenge…

Week two of our new photo challenge.
Get involved!

Diary of an Internet Nobody.

Hi there, I hope you all had a pleasant Easter weekend and that those of you with an additional bank holiday are enjoying your work-free Monday.

Monday now also means K’lee and Dale’s Cosmic Photo Challenge, the new feature that launched last week, the purpose of which is to showcase the various creative ways that photographic effects, editing, filters and manipulation can enhance and/or make an image something more akin to art than mere photography.

After last week’s willfully overblown and in-your-face editing frenzy, I thought I’d go the other way for the second edition and use some subtle toning and contrast adjustments to give this shot of Woody Bay steam railway station on Exmoor, (which Audrey and I visited yesterday) a bit of extra atmosphere…

Now it’s time for you to hop on over to check out K’lee’s photo for today on Obzervashunal and also for you to…

K’lee and Dale’s Cosmic Photo Challenge…

Get your photographic groove on and join in with our new creative feature…

Diary of an Internet Nobody.

Ok, this is it; the first day of a new feature on Diary of an Internet Nobody, in association with my good friend, K’lee at Obzervashunal.

From now on, Mondays are Cosmic Photo Challenge day!

Each week, K’lee and I will be posting an artistic photographic creation which falls outside the scope of mere “photography” and strays into the more ephemeral sphere of “art”, (however you choose to define that elusive term) using whatever effects, techniques or general mucking about that floats our collective boat.

We will each post on our blogs with links supplied, to enable you to check out both offerings each time.

We would also love you all to get involved in making this an interactive feature.
All you need to do is add a post to your blog, entitled “K’lee and Dale’s Cosmic Photo Challenge”, post your artistic creation and then execute a pingback…

New feature starting tomorrow…

I shall be reblogging these posts here each week. Feel free to take part, it’s going to be fun to see what kind of creations we can come up with.

Tomorrow (Monday 21st March) marks the start of a new feature on Diary of an Internet Nobody, in collaboration with K’lee L at Obzervashunal.

During an e-mail conversation last week, while we were discussing photography in general, (and mobile phone cameras in particular) photo editing apps and the various techniques we both use to create “new” images; by combining multiple photos or by using filters and digital effects, we hatched the idea of having a regular weekly challenge that specifically featured effects and editing.

It stemmed from a comment I made on one of K’lee’s posts a couple of weeks ago, to which HE GAVE THIS REPLY, and we hope it becomes a regular, interactive feature in which you can all participate.

So stay tuned for K’lee and Dale’s Cosmic Photo Challenge, and prepare for a weekly dose of visually creative eye candy.

Picture this: The promise of Spring…

Still getting used to my new camera (yes, it’s just another phone) so I thought I’d take advantage of the sunshine today and capture the beauty of Spring.

Diary of an Internet Nobody.

For the first time this year, it finally feels like Spring has sprung and, with the second of two days of glorious sunshine this weekend, it was a perfect day for a stroll in the park.

I’d been wanting an excuse to play with my new camera anyway…
