Light morphing…

For one of my recent contributions to the weekly  Cosmic Photo Challenge on  Diary of an Internet Nobody I captured some car light trails and today I decided to use them for another abstract art experiment.

The glowing nature of the original images made for excellent source material, resulting in some rather awesome light sculptures, I hope you like them.

Well, I’ve got to find something to do on my day off.

K’lee and Dale’s Cosmic Photo Challenge…

Today’s Cosmic Photo Challenge goes out on the town…

Diary of an Internet Nobody.

Hello again, I hope you all had an enjoyable and relaxing weekend, filled with plenty of inspiration for theCosmic Photo Challenge that I set you on Friday.

The prompt was Street life, which I hope prodded you in the direction of trying out some candid street photography, or at least capturing some creative urban images that evoke the eclectic and vibrant life on the streets of our towns and cities.

I was fortunate, in that Saturday was carnival day in Barnstaple (note for American readers; a “carnival” in England is a parade, with floats, marching bands, costumes etc, sometimes by torchlight in the evening, not just a fairground, although the two generally do go together) and Audrey was intent on taking part in the kids’ procession early in the afternoon. So we headed into town in the morning to find a costume for her, eventually finding a very…

K’lee and Dale’s Cosmic Photo Challenge…

Today’s night and day challenge…

Diary of an Internet Nobody.

Welcome to another new week and another new edition of K’lee and Dale’s Cosmic Photo Challenge, the theme of which was set by K’lee on Friday and he asked you to come up with one photo from the daytime and two from the night.

I went for a straightforward black and white shot for my daylight option, snapped in the garden over the weekend, followed by a couple I took last night, from above and next to a road respectively, using a long exposure to capture the trails of car lights.

…and then reflected in the side of my car

K’lee’s photois HERE, so go and check it out, then show us what you have to offer.

More experiments with light painting…

Having found Audrey’s colour changing glitter lamps useful for making the gif in this week’s Cosmic Photo Challenge, I decided to see what sort of images I could get by using them for light painting.

So last night I shut myself in a dark room for half an hour and these gloriously vibrant creations are the result…

(Yes, I know the “y” is backwards, I got confused, ok.)

K’lee and Dale’s Cosmic Photo Challenge…

This week’s challenge, apologies for the late posting…

Diary of an Internet Nobody.

Hello and welcome to another Monday and the latest edition of K’lee and Dale’s Cosmic Photo Challenge, which I have dictated the theme for this week.

I asked you to go Into the light, break the rules ofconventional wisdom and shoot your photos directly towards a light source; let us see some creative (lens)flair and bright ideas.

I have compiled half a dozen shining examples of excessive brilliance, as well as creating a piece of video artwork (using just my phone, a kaleidoscope and a small flashlight)for one of my recent musical experiments, Inner Sphear.

Enjoy…

Update: Here’s an old layering experiment I just found, merging Rhonda with the first of today’s photos…

…and I little gif I made today, using two glitter lamps.

K’lee’s photo for the daycan be seen HERE.
